Summer Teen Volunteering
Summer volunteering is coming soon! If you will be in grades 7-12 in Fall 2023 and would like to volunteer at the library this summer, you need to attend an information session (even if you have volunteered at the library before). Information sessions will be held on Monday, May 15th-Thursday, May 18th. Each session will be identical. Please register for one session through our online calendar. If you are interested in volunteering but will not be able to attend any of the information sessions, please email Annie Lee.
A monthly volunteer opportunity for grades 5-12. See more information here.
Do you have an interest or skill you'd like to share with other teens, kids, or adults? Apply to lead a program at the Shrewsbury Public Library with Teens Teach! A completed application is required to be considered for the Teens Teach Volunteer Program; applications are accepted on a quarterly basis.
Download the application here or fill it out online here. Questions about the Teens Teach Volunteer Program or application process may be directed to the Teen Librarian at email@example.com.
Examples of past/current teen-led programs:

- Rubik's Cube Club
- Self Improvement Club
- Stop Motion Animation Workshops
Virtual Volunteer Opportunities for Teens
For those who aren't able to volunteer in person at the library, we've got virtual volunteer opportunities! These can be done anytime until further notice. You don't need to apply to take advantage of these opportunities, just read the description (below) and submit your work as directed. If you have an idea for something a little different, send us an email and we can talk!
Children's Activity Videos/Instructions
For volunteers in grades 5-12. Help out our Children's Department by sharing fun activities and crafts for kids to do! Film yourself making a simple craft that parents could do at home with their kids, or create instructions for a game or activity for kids to play. We'll share some of these through the library's social media and YouTube channels. Videos should be no more than five minutes long. Send your files to firstname.lastname@example.org along with how long you spent making the video/writing up the instructions so you can get volunteer credit. Activities and crafts should be geared toward children under 10 years of age.
