Resources for Educators
Teacher's Card
Shrewsbury Teachers and Educators are eligible to apply for a Teacher’s Card to check out materials for their students. Items checked out to these accounts are automatically checked out for 6-weeks. Please note that the teacher is financially responsible for all items checked out to these accounts. For more information please review and submit the following form:
- Teacher Card Agreement & Registration Form
- Alternatively, you may use the printable Teacher Card Agreement & Registration Form
Teacher Material Requests
Teachers with Teacher Cards are able to request items for borrowing. Teachers can either ask for specific titles, or share topics for which they need materials, and our librarians will provide a personalized selection. Public school teachers are able to have materials delivered directly to their schools.
Library Tours
Librarians love giving behind the scenes tours of the library. Contact our Head of Youth Services, Sonja Drotar, at sdrotar@cwmars.org to set up a time for your class to tour the library.
Databases
The library subscribes to several online databases for children. All you need to access them is your library card! Check out our Children’s Resources page for more information.
Educate Station is a resource the library subscribes to specifically for educators that provides ready-to-use, hands-on curriculum materials in alignment with common core standards.
Classroom Visits
Our librarians love to visit schools for storytimes, read-alouds and special community events. Reach out to us if you are interested in a classroom visit.
Homeschooling Support
It is part of our mission to support our homeschool families. Please reach out to us if you have any ideas for programming, need curriculum assistance, or have any overall feedback.
