Pick Mattock
Use: Use the horizontal blade (adze) to cut and move soil, lever slabs of stone, or pry apart boards. Use the pointed end (pick) to break up hard earth. Place your dominant hand halfway up the handle and the other hand at the base. Bend at the waist with your back straight, knees flexed, and feet shoulder width apart. Raise the mattock to just above the waist height and let it fall.
Safety: The head is heavy and sharp. Consider wearing work gloves.
Cleaning: Clean dirt away with soap and water. Let the tool dry before returning.
